iHub on SMS Sender ID Registry Whitelist to Enhance Consumer Trust and Combat Scams - on Zaobao and Channel 8
As of January this year, nearly 1,100 organizations from the financial, e-commerce and logistics industries, as well as government departments such as the Ministry of Health and the Inland Revenue Authority have joined the Infocomm Media Development Authority's Singapore SMS Sender Identity Registration System. When the public receives SMS messages from these organizations in the future, they can use the "sender identity" to confirm that they are genuine, reducing the risk of being fooled by "number change fraud" tactics.
