      Hi everyone,
we need to implement an external Bluetooth GPS sensor to which iOS devices can be paired. On Android this is done - afaik - via Bluetooth Classic using the Serial Port Profile (SPP) and sending NMEA 0183 messages. Apple doesn't seem to support the SPP unless the Bluetooth device implements encryption and was certified under their MFi programme (Made For iOS).

      Can anyone help with:
      a) How to implement an external GPS device for iOS devices
      b) Which Bluetooth Module may be certified for this task? Ideally an M5 Atom built in one?

      Many thanks,
      Holger
