Atom Echo Purple LED/failure to fetch STT data?

I've managed to get a token, and when I use serial monitor on the echo I can see its recognising speech. However the status LED goes purple and the coreGo I'm using to try and recieve the data gets nothing (I've triple checked the token is correct and I'm using the exact example in https://docs.m5stack.com/en/quick_start/atom_echo/uiflow ). Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?
