Cardputer Driver Issues
-
I've had my Cardputer a while now and so far I've been playing with software in the M5Burner application. When I first set up my Cardputer, it went very smoothly and I was up and running in a matter of minutes. The other day I wanted to load the official Cardputer software and found it wouldn't load. Up to this point I was using Com port 8 without any issues, now every time I plugged the Cardputer in I got the banner at the top of the page telling me New Hardware Found Com 8 but when I tried to erase the device, no Com 8 present. I tried downloading various drivers suggested for the Cardputer but nothing seemed to work. At this point I had 11 Com ports listed in Device Manager So I cleared the lot, including Com 1. Com 1 re-installed itself and when I plugged in the Cardputer it showed up as Com 4. So back to the M5Burner and I reconnected the Cardputer and this time got the message, new hardware detected Com 4 but when it came to erasing or burning, only Com 1 was listed. Sometimes when plugging in the Cardputer, I get the general chime sound of a USB device connected and then a second later I get the USB device disconnected. From what I can see, the Cardputer is going online and then a second later going offline.
What am I doing wrong?
TIA

do you use m5burner?
if so what com port it shows there when you connect cardputer?
also what com port it is showing when cardputers on/off switch is in off and then you press and hold BOOT btn and then connect usb? -
@Jomac Are you putting the Cardputer into Firmware mode but holding G0 while plugging in?

Many thanks for your reply. I have to admit I am a total NOOB here. For a couple of days I didn't have to do anything, just plug in the USB cable and it seemed fine. After some messing around I found that by holding the boot button down then pressing the hidden button on top of the S3, releasing the boot button and then the button on the S3 the USB found the device. However, I've noticed sometimes it likes to connect on Com 4 and other times on Com 9 for some reason?

thing is that comport you see with just connecting cardputer to usb is one of two available
second comport (needed for programming) is visible when on dead device you press and hold boot button G0 and then connect to usb
