      Hi all! My first post here...

      I'm planning to use a Roller485 to implement some simple machine control. I'll be using a M5Stack Core2 or similar to drive it via the I2C port, but I think that I will probably need the power levels of the PWR485 port.

      Looking at the schematic, it looks like there is a blocking diode that will permit power to be supplied through the PWR485 port, but control to be provided through the I2C port - is this correct?

      Many thanks in advance!

        If you use a Roller485, you can connect directly to PortA of the Core2 to provide power + I2C control at the same time.

        Yes, you can use the 485 bus to provide power and I2C control at the same time.

        Good morning, and welcome to the Black Mesa Transit System.

            @kuriko A follow-up question, if I may...

            Can an M5Stack controller accept power from the Grove connector? If I connect an Atom-Lite to a Roller485Lite via the I2C port and supply 12V to the Roller485 through the PWR485 port, will this provide power to the Atom-Lite? There appears to be a path through the schematics...

            TIA

            Martin
