Tadalafil is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (commonly known as sexual impotence) in males. Tadalafil belongs to a class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. These medications stop an enzyme known as phosphodiesterase type-5 from operating too quickly. This enzyme operates in the penis, among other places.
