      1. My DInmeter is intended to run on battery power. I set G46 to HIGH immediately in setup but the unit shuts down after a few seconds.

      2. I cannot get the unit to start by pushing the encoder button. I must plug in the USB cable to start it. After I remove the USB cable, issue #1 happens - it shuts down in a few seconds.

      Does anyone know of an example where a DinMeter runs exclusively on battery, starts when the encoder button is pressed and stays running as long as G46 is High?

        from this and your previous post I would guess that there is no battery connected or it is not charged (enough).
