It appears that the tab5 is prepared to work with Lora. Any idea how?
      Thanks

        Hello @HappyUser

correct, M5Tab5 has an (empty) slot on its board which takes a stamp sized expansion like CatM or LoRa or ... - see backside picture of M5Tab5.

That said, afaik at this point in time only the Stamp CatM exists. See here.

In other words, you'll need to wait until M5Stack releases a Stamp LoRa.

        Thanks
        Felix

@HappyUser The Tab5 also has a M-BUS interface (the big 30pin socket on the back) and mounting points for the m-bus modules.

So; in theory you can 'just' plug in one of the modules from here: https://docs.m5stack.com/en/products?id=for stack-module

But in practice it will probably need a bunch of work and understanding to get the pin assignments and drivers on the tab5 aligned and working.

            • There are other interesting M-BUS modules available (GPS, motor drive, prototype board, etc..)
            • The tab5 has the correct threaded mounting points to make the boards secure etc.

@easytarget thank you. That is indeed an option. In my experience not to much work to get a Lora module working. We have a number of them in the field. But we would like the tab5 not become thicker as it is. We are now considering to place an Heltec Lora inside. Maybe that could work. Regards.
