just wondering - maybe the issue isn't specific to PSRAM but with the power supply? I'd try a different power supply and/or shorter USB cable.

Could you please include the imports at the beginning of the code? did you import the proper library?
it seems that it says the SDCard failed, could you run the factory test image on your old core to see if you get any issues?

Perhaps for your purpose with the external mic and the PAM board you were talking about using the I2S (or IIS) pins - IIS_IN (G34) and (IIS_OUT (G15) ???

I don't think they are being used by anything obvious on the M5Stack - (screen,buttons,TF card)......

The M5Stack guys recently demoed audio playback using I2s on twitter recently.... i gather they output using the DAC (g25). Using Python: https://twitter.com/M5Stack/status/972058080081883136

Hi Anichang,

Glad to hear our issue is cleared.... its understandable for anyone if one has had issues with something in the past to be sensitive - even more so when digital rights are involved as this can quickly become a serious matter.

I think I have some similar views to yours in that area.
