The issue is that M5Burner saves firmware files in its installation folder with random names, rather than in the Downloads folder. Robski explained that on Windows, they check the installation folder, identify the newest file after downloading, rename it to something recognizable, and then copy it to the SD card for use in M5Launcher. The same approach should work on MacOS.

Youâre probably not missing anything obvious, itâs just a bit confusing how M5Burner handles downloads on macOS. When you click download inside M5Burner, the firmware is often saved to M5Burnerâs internal data directory rather than your normal Downloads folder. Thatâs why you can see M5Launcher but not the firmware files. Try checking the appâs data or cache folder, or use the âBurnâ option and see where it points by default. From there, you should be able to copy the files to your SD card for later use.
