TAB5 and Stamp Connector
-
I have a TAB5 and a M5STAMP-CatM module, there doesn't seem to be any way to connect the 2 The Stamp fits in the aperture in the case and there are pads on the TAB5 PCB but no pins. So do they connect?

@scroggyg I also have the Tab5 and it says it accepts a Stamp Lorawan Module.
Does that Stamp LoraWan exist??? -

Yes, they connect — the M5STAMP-CatM is designed to fit into the TAB5 case and align with the pads on the PCB. You’ll need to solder the module to those pads, as there are no pins provided.

Hi guys
I now have the LTE-M modem fully integrated into M5Tab5 (including proper external antenna). Info here.
Thanks

@felmue Thanks Guys, I assume the switch is necessary to switch off the module, and save power when running on battery?

Hello @scroggyg
the added 5 V power switch I use to fully turn the modem off when I want to use M5Tab5 without modem (without the need to de-solder it.
The other modification to control the POWERKEY of the modem via GPIO (instead of the default auto power on) of the modem is required for two cases:
- firstly to restart the modem in case it becomes unresponsive to AT commands and
- secondly to get it out of PSM (power save mode).
Thanks
