Stackchan unboxing and setup troubleshoot
-
In my case, this symptom occurred when the SSID of the WiFi access point connected to StackChan and my smartphone were not the same.
This was because StackChan was connected on 2.4GHz and my smartphone was connected on 5GHz.
When I switched my smartphone to 2.4GHz, it connected. -
I recently received package with StackChan and encountered a similar issue. StackChan connected to the same Wi-Fi network as my phone through the settings in the Android app. However, the AI.Agent voice assistant won't connect. It doesn't provide any connection instructions (as shown in the YouTube video). It doesn't respond to its name or any commands. The firmware automatically updated and then was reinstalled using M5Burner.
I've checked everything, but I can't configure the AI.Agent.
Could it be faulty, or should I check something else? -
@Aleximdh what are your app settings re: ai agent? It worked on mine straight away
-
@robski, The problem is that AI.Agent does not show the settings. The device itself is connected to the phone and to Wi-Fi. But the AI.Agent is silent. He doesn't respond to my voice in any way.
-
@Aleximdh so your Agent Settings like Assistant Name/Language/LLM Model/ Voice Setting are blank?
-
@robski , All settings are default. Only Wi-Fi from my router is used on Android, and the same applies to StackChan.
Assistant Name - StackChan
Language - English
LLM Model - Qwen3 235B
Voice Setting - Skye -
@janstackchan turn the Bluetooth of your mobile device on, while on the SSID page. It will sync your StackChan to your mobile device and proceed to the next stages of the setup and after that, it'll pull the latest software update from M5Stack
-
@robski does remains your StackChan away from the default name lead to any issues?
-
@Aleximdh has anyone tried picking on other models besides Qwen and had success?
-
@Aleximdh same settings on mine, have you tried it on diff wifi?
