Members will have noticed that some of us have pictures instead of letters next to our names. This isn't anything to do with status but is a function of the forum available to most (if not all) forum member. To set a picture for your avater you need to click on your letter in the top right hand side of the screen and a menu will appear. Click "Edit Profile" and you will be taken to the profile screen. At the top is a picture with your initial in it, click on it and you can upload an image to use.

To fix issues with M5Burner on Mac, ensure you’ve installed the correct USB-to-serial drivers (like CP210x or CH340). Run M5Burner using Rosetta if needed. Allow app permissions via System Settings > Privacy & Security. Always download the latest M5Burner version compatible with your mac.

The V2 is designed for that however there are a few issues you need to overcome. 1, it does not connect to the pi like a pi camera. 2, there is a steep learning curve when it come to programming. if you were looking for a quick fix for image recognition then I'm sorry it cant help. I have been struggle to understand it for a long time and I still have the V1 Unfortunately due to the component crises the RPI issue is bad however wave share do a better resolution camera replacement to the official RPI camera2

Many thanks for the info. I ventured into all the other modes and will experiment with the Arduino mode until I'm more familiar with this "cutie". But I need an answer about the loss of the touch function in ALL modes. I'm about to return it. I'm guessing its not a hardware problem but software. I did the erase and reloaded the Core2 firmware, but still no touch. Help appreciated. Anxious to move on to MicroPython. Bo W4GHV since '54

This was caused by a missing double quotation mark in a file name in an "Execute code" block.....

@wsanders I just followed the install instructions to install Python3 in OSX All you are doing is adding a list of folders that tell the terminal where to look for python 3. Something like this guide works fine: https://www.educative.io/edpresso/how-to-add-python-to-the-path-variable-in-mac Then once the variable is set you use python3 instead of python when issuing commands.

@wsanders Yes, the SSID's need to be changed as far as I'm aware, the issue is with Micropython.

PROBLEM SOLVED At startup : if flag 'power_lost' is True: the external DS3231 is set with pre-determined datetime (adjust by hand) next the built-in RTC is started with the datetime from the DS3231 if the flag 'power_lost is False: the built-in RTC is started with the datetime from the DS3231 During the main loop displaying the datetime from the built-in RTC. I put a short video in the images folder inside the dropbox folder (see the link in my post above).

@ikanode What do you mean by "Those are the incomplete instructions that don't work for Web IDE" Those were written for the WEB IDE! WEB USB host mode? experimental web browser system that isn't supported. Wifi SSID screen is used to set the wifi access point and password on a wifi network this only comes up if you didn't set the skid and password when flashing using M5Burner. After the said and password is set you be been shown the API code which need to be set in uiflow in order for uiflow to connect. There is only one online server at present and its behind the great firewall of china which sometimes causes connection to be dropped especially with so many people trying to connect. This book is not complete but it may answer some more questions.https://github.com/Ajb2k3/UIFlowHandbook/blob/master/UIFlowhandbook.pdf

No because the Stick does not have "Host mode" so cannot have USB drives connected to it.

My battery duration seems longer: the program I ran Tuesday is still running "more or less". By "more or less" I mean that sometimes I find the M5 with a black screen, and I have to press the POWER ON button to wake it up. I shouldn't need to do that, so this strange. But at least with the counter displayed on the screen, I know my program ran for 72 hours (indeed more or less 3 days). Difference with yours: I do not connect to a Wifi / Internet (which usually consumes battery quite a lot)

@paulskpt thanks. The issue with the digital is on my end as I’m having formatting problems. I recently found an issue after release and pulled the book down. Thank you for asking but if you look on FB groupe you may be surprised.

Hi Go 'back is not supported yet, only restart is possible. The three red dots are also part of the touch. Currently they are virtualized as three buttons.

@felmue Ok, so I'm using the Web IDE successfully but only in WiFi mode, I can't figure out how to connect a USB device while using web IDE, only desktop IDE (which I understand now is no longer maintained). I am doing this because for use in a school environment they only have "captive" WiFi.
