I received my Core2 today. Trying to plug the PLC circuit after removing the bottom seems difficult. On the left side there is a metallic thing (motor?) that push the circuit, and pin headers are really short.

About headers, you sell SMT mount connector in your shop but I think they are 2.5mm long (like the old modules one's)? right? on the micro-module they are 3.5mm (total height 5.84).
For makers like me, if we want to build modules prototype, where can we find compatible trough hole or SMT connectors? I search and found nothing? any ref?

So when you unplug/plug the device in, the serial port doesn't even show up? If the port does not show up on your computer, then there are other issues. You can use PlatformIO. As a matter of fact, the Getting Started guide explicitly uses PlatformIO: https://edukit.workshop.aws/en/getting-started.html.

@kmart93179 weight unit is not used the I2C protocol of course they not compatible.

Run is just for quick testing of your program. It is erased on a reboot. Download will add the program to the flash storage on the device so you can access it from the APP.LIST menu (middle button when the M5stack is booting up - inbeteeen upload and setup).

Upyloader, Mu and Thonny are all great tools with a nice GUI that you can use to transfer files to and from the flash of your device

@gman what is your mean? can't install the firmware file? or can't burn the firmware? could you say more detail?

Github repository of my MQTT Thermostat running on Core2 is here.

It's pretty cool. The thermostat supports various modes: off/auto/manual/heat/cool/fan. You can specify minimum cycle duration as well as set swing mode parameters. It automatically gets discovered by Home Assistant. You can set thermostat mode and target temperature in Home Assistant and they will automatically get reflected on the Core2 display.

It currently relies on the ENVII module for temperature reading, and requires a WIFI connection and an active MQTT broker. I haven't had time to implement error handling, so if something goes wrong, it might be non-obvious to figure out why. More work to be done.

I couldn't figure out how to enable touch for a specific screen area without using visible buttons with M5stack_UI, so instead I used an lvgl button with invisible borders.

@LostInSpace I am quite new to all this so could you post a simple code of making a beep with your library.

I find myself with the same problem and despite the solutions provided, I can only send 9 data packets before the synchronization stops.
Do you have a new solution?

On one hand things are going great and i'm learning a lot on the way.

On the other hand i realized that reading the Position of a servo, like it is shown in the Arduino example-code of the Motion Kit, is not sufficient as sensory-data (it just represents the applied position/velocity). Due to physical interaction i want to track the real, measured angle to compare with the desired.

So in the long run i'll use servos with Position-Feedback to read the angle from the additional wire. As noob its hard to compare any specs, but the "KST MR320 PF" may be appropriate as replacement (still confused about the min and max angle it can take, it must not turn infinite, but a range of at least 270° would be great).

For the current prototyping, i will extend each servo with an Angle-Module (potentiometer), combined with a PbHub and connected to the Motion-Kit. This may be a bit overkill (in cables and weight), but cheaper and sufficient to have a nervous-system as processing-inputs.

@wkibler you need to make this offer direct to M5STACK. I have been pushing and teachers have been asking but if you make a finical offering they that could tip the scales into getting one.
I asked for a RpI based private host.
